They have drawn three and lost five of their previous eight top-flight matches since they swept past Leicester City via a 3-0 scoreline on March 16.
Friday’s result also represented their third straight Premier League loss and the 15th time that they have failed to score in the top flight this season – only Leicester have failed to score in more.

While their Premier League campaign may go down as a monumental failure, Man United could still salvage Champions League qualification by winning the Europa League.
The Red Devils will travel to Bilbao for Wednesday’s showdown with fellow Premier Legaue strugglers Tottenham Hotspur, who are a point behind Man United in 17th place following Friday’s defeat to Aston Villa.
Man United are bidding to win the Europa League for the second time in their history after previously achieving the feat under Jose Mourinho in 2016-17.
As for Amorim, the upcoming final gives him the chance to win the first European trophy of his coaching career.
