Having already won the Bundesliga title, Bayern Munich’s final match of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season against TSG Hoffenheim had little strategic importance for the visiting side. Despite this, Bayern strolled to a comfortable 4-0 victory, with some key players putting in impressive performances.

Jersey Swap: Tom Bischof

Few players looked strong for Hoffenheim, and while Dennis Geiger worked hard off the ball and Andrej Kramarić was involved in some promising attacking moves, it was Tom Bischof who stood out the most. The Bayern-bound 19-year-old made some good passes, the most impressive of which came in the 50th minute when Bischof found Kramarić in an advanced position only for the Croatian to miss the target. On the defensive side of things, Bischof wasn’t hugely impactful, but did manage to win his only tackle of the match and complete six recoveries (FotMob).

Der Kaiser: Josip Stanišić

Hoffenheim did little on the attacking side of things, and while part of this comes down to a poor performance from Die Kraichgauer, it also speaks to the stability of Bayern’s backline. Manuel Neuer was mostly a spectator, Raphaël Guerreiro was near invisible, and Konrad Laimer looked good but ultimately gave the ball up too many times to be a real contender for this award (Sacha Boey did well to assist, but that was about all from him). Bayern’s center-back pairing of Josip Stanišić and Eric Dier was excellent, with little to choose between the two top-notch performances. Stanišic was heavily involved in the match, completing four long balls, making 14 recoveries, and 5 defensive actions (FotMob). While this is impressive, it’s his 60th-minute flick into Serge Gnabry that stands out just enough to give him the edge over Dier. However, this award could’ve justifiably gone to either player.

Fußballgott: Joshua Kimmich

Joshua Kimmich once again did well in running the show from the center of the park for Bayern Munich. While his consistency in terms of impact and high-level play seems to have fatigued a portion of the Bayern fanbase, looking at this match in isolation, Kimmich was the best of Bayern’s midfielders. Kimmich made the most passes of any player in the match, and still managed a passing accuracy of 96% (FotMob). This becomes all the more impressive given that seven of these passes were successful long balls and ten into the final third. On top of acting as Bayern’s midfield metronome, Kimmich managed to bag a goal from a deflected shot in the 53rd minute.

Der Bomber: Harry Kane

The temptation to cram Thomas Müller into these awards somewhere was strong, but both Gnabry and Kane played better matches than the all-time Bayern great. Kane wasn’t on the pitch for long, but his efficiency was impressive, collecting a goal and an assist in just 29 minutes. Kane even managed to hit the post in the same move that ended in the Englishman assisting a wonderful Serge Gnabry strike.

Meister of the Match: Michael Olise

At this point, it’s almost safe to nail Olise on as the Meister of the Match before the game has even started. Olise has been nothing short of incredible this season and probably deserves to be named Bundesliga player of the season. Olise’s attacking exploits include both a goal and an assist on the night, with the Frenchman nestling the ball in the bottom corner to score an incredible free kick from a foul that he himself won. There were numerous other occasions where Olise was involved in attacking moves well, as the player created more chances than anyone else in the match (FotMob).
