The Gunners started the campaign with genuine hopes of going all the way in the Premier League title race, especially with Manchester City floundering.

However, Arsenal fell short in the title race and, while they reached the Champions League semi-finals, they were undone by Paris Saint-Germain.

Now, a report has emerged claiming that Barcelona and other footballing giants have been stunned by what Arsenal are now doing.

Arsenal ‘aggression’ ahead of transfer window stuns Barcelona

Arsenal have wasted no time in making moves in the market, with Andrea Berta intent on giving Mikel Arteta the reinforcements he needs to kick on.

And Arsenal’s determination to get deals done quickly this summer has left their European rivals stunned, according to The Sun.

Barcelona and other football giants are now having to recalibrate and rethink their own transfer window strategy, according to the report.

This is because Arsenal have shown ‘aggression and presence’ when it comes to lining up and moving for targets over the past few weeks.

Indeed, sources told the outlet that ‘they expect to be blown out of the water in comparison’.

Arsenal have already sealed a deal for Martin Zubimendi, while Viktor Gyokeres is said to be more and more likely to join Arsenal this summer.

Ian Wright’s Arsenal transfer criticism that the Gunners are working to put right

Arsenal legend Ian Wright recently criticised the Gunners’ recruitment over the past 12 months.

The Highbury icon, speaking on the Wrighty’s House podcast, noted how a lack of strength in depth for the crucial trip to PSG cost Arsenal dear.

“We literally couldn’t bring anyone off the bench to help that game in the semi-final of a Champions League,” Wright said on his podcast.

“That is the only thing that I will point a finger at in respects of the recruitment.

“And this is why I’m hoping that Andrea Berta has got his book out and he’s ready to go.

“Because we are three or four players away from winning the league and winning the Champions League.”

Arsenal appear to have heeded Wright’s comments – indeed, they’ve already done something he said the Gunners needed to do.

“I’m hoping that Zubimendi comes to us, to be honest,” Wright said on a different episode of Wrighty’s House.

Later in the episode, he said: “And I need to hear some, like you mentioned Zubimendi. That better happen as far as I’m concerned.

“Listen, all I have to say, I’m leaving it at that. Like, I have faith, I have faith.”
