Marseille can secure second place in Ligue 1 if they come out on top against Rennes at the Stade Velodrome in their final fixture of the 2024-25 campaign on Saturday night.

Les Olympiens are looking to complete their first league double over Les Rouge et Noirs since the 2006-07 season after winning the reverse fixture at Roazhon Park by a 2-1 scoreline in January.

We say: Marseille 3-1 Rennes

While Marseille have picked up as many points on home soil as they have on the road (31) this season, Rennes have accumulated only 31.7% of their Ligue 1 points away from home (13) – the third-worst record in the division.

Both teams will be keen to end the season on a high, but we are backing Marseille to get the job done in front of their own fans and secure second spot for the third time in six years, forcing Rennes to finish in the bottom half for the first time since 2013-14.

Looking to sneak into the European spots on the final day of the campaign, Lyon host Angers at Groupama Stadium for an all-important Ligue 1 clash on Saturday night.

The hosts suffered a damaging defeat at the base of Monaco last time out, whereas Le SCO secured a survival-clinching win over Strasbourg on home soil.

We say: Lyon 2-0 Angers

Requiring a positive result to keep their European hopes alive, Lyon should be raring to go at Groupama Stadium on the final day of the Ligue 1 season.

Angers are on the beach after securing safety earlier this month, and a relaxed approached from the visitors should allow Les Gones to snatch maximum points.

Aiming to cling onto a spot in the qualification rounds of the Champions League, Nice welcome fellow European hopefuls Brest to Allianz Riviera on the final day of the Ligue 1 campaign this weekend.

Le Gym suffered a damaging 2-0 defeat at the home of Rennes last time out, whilst Les Pirates secured a comfortable success over top-four chasing Lille.

We say: Nice 1-0 Brest

Despite the defeat at Rennes last weekend, Nice remain in a good place and should be confident of putting Brest to the sword on home soil.

Le Gym are one victory away from returning to the Champions League, meaning that motivation should be at an all-time high for the hosts at Allianz Riviera.

Aiming to extend their top-tier stay into a second year, Saint-Etienne host Toulouse on the final day of the Ligue 1 campaign at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Saturday night.

Les Verts handed their survival hopes a significant boost by beating Reims last weekend, whilst Les Violets shared the spoils with Lens on home soil.

We say: Saint-Etienne 1-0 Toulouse

Desperate for a positive result to stay alive in the survival hunt, Saint-Etienne will be looking to take advantage of Toulouse’s safety on Saturday night.

Les Violets will want to end the campaign on a high note but will be unable to match the desire from Les Verts, who should squeeze past the attentions of the visitors to claim three points.

Lille will be bidding to sneak into fourth position in the Ligue 1 table, securing a spot in the Champions League third qualifying round in the process, when they conclude their campaign against Reims on Saturday night.

The home side are currently fifth, level on points with fourth-placed Nice, while Reims are down in 14th, with the team, who are in the Coupe de France final, still in relegation danger heading into the final matchday.

We say: Lille 2-1 Reims

Reims are capable of making this a tricky match for Lille, but with home advantage, we are expecting Genesio’s team to pick up a valuable three points, which may be enough to finish fourth in the table.

Two teams with something substantial to fight for heading into the final matchday of the 2024-25 Ligue 1 campaign will lock horns on Saturday night, as Strasbourg welcome Le Havre.

Strasbourg are sixth in the Ligue 1 table, level on points with fourth-placed Nice, while Le Havre are 16th, with the team currently facing a relegation playoff to determine their division for the 2025-26 season.

We say: Strasbourg 2-0 Le Havre

Strasbourg have been excellent at home this season, posting 10 wins from their 16 matches, and we are expecting them to be in contention for a Champions League finish on the final matchday, while Le Havre may be relegated to Ligue 2.

Nantes will be bidding to avoid finishing in a relegation playoff spot in the Ligue 1 table when they conclude their 2024-25 campaign with a clash against already-relegated Montpellier HSC on Saturday night.

The home side are currently 15th, two points clear of 16th-placed Le Havre, while Montpellier are rooted to the bottom of the division, with a poor campaign only seeing them pick up 16 points from 33 matches.

We say: Nantes 1-0 Montpellier HSC

Nantes are under pressure to pick up a positive result to confirm their status in Ligue 1 for next season, and we are backing the home side to navigate their way to an important three points on Saturday night.

Monaco manager Adi Hutter pictured on July 20, 2024© Imago

Still in contention to finish as the best of the rest, Monaco travel to the Stade Bollaert-Delelis to battle Lens on the final day of the 2024-25 Ligue 1 season.

Adi Hutter’s men trail second-placed Marseille by one point heading into Saturday’s showdown, whereas their hosts cannot finish any higher than eighth.

We say: Lens 1-2 Monaco

An unpredictable Lens side facing a Monaco outfit who have struggled to impress away from home has the makings of a fascinating affair, albeit one with little on the line for both outfits.

Hutter’s men can always be relied upon to make the net bulge on rival territory, though, so we still expect the Champions League-bound Monegasques to claim maximum points and do all they can for second place.

Concluding another breeze of a Ligue 1 campaign, Paris Saint-Germain welcome mid-table Auxerre to the Parc des Princes on Saturday, in a final-day dead rubber.

Les Parisiens thumped relegated Montpellier HSC 4-1 in their penultimate game of the campaign, while Christophe Pelissier’s troops settled for a 1-1 stalemate with Nantes.

We say: Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 Auxerre

Easily the least important game left on PSG’s 2024-25 calendar, the Ligue 1 champions need not expend all their energy on Saturday, where the main focus should be avoiding any devastating injuries before the UCL final.

Momentum can be a priceless thing in football, though, so Enrique’s side should still take care of business without a fuss against Auxerre, who already have their feet up.
