George Best Was, quite simply put, the equivalent of a rockstar. In many ways, football’s first true Rockstar.
He won everything available to him – as an individual, as part of a team. He was magical on the ball, a sight that kept everyone on their feet and sent defenders in unbridled panic.
Off the pitch, the winning didn’t seem to stop. Money, cars, girls, fame. At a glance, he was a man that had it all.
The sad reality is that Best was fighting demons the entire time. His greatest vices, unfortunately brought upon his undoing.
Best was a complex character, his legacy, maybe more so.
Today, we look into why.
