Manchester United’s Premier League woes deepened with a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, extending their winless run to eight league games.
Six of those have ended in defeat, leaving the Red Devils floundering in 16th place, with pressure mounting both on and off the pitch.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that Manchester United’s issues go beyond tactical problems or managerial missteps.
From high-profile fallouts to questionable player management, a problem appears to be much deep-rooted behind the scenes and one that has led to multiple rifts between the club and its stars in recent years.
Among the most high-profile of these was the messy separation between the club and Jadon Sancho.
And a moment involving Victor Lindelof after full-time at Stamford Bridge has reignited conversation around his controversial exit.
Man United’s Victor Lindelof shares moment with Jadon Sancho after defeat to Chelsea
Following the final whistle at Stamford Bridge, most Manchester United players offered a token applause to the travelling support before disappearing down the tunnel without much fanfare.
However, one particular moment stood out. Lindelof was the only player seen approaching Sancho, embracing the winger as seen in the video shared by Samuel Luckhurst on X.
Jadon Sancho’s troubled time at Manchester United
The Englishman’s time at Manchester has been turbulent. Despite joining for £73 million in 2021, he struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford.
Under Erik ten Hag, things deteriorated publicly in 2023, when Sancho openly challenged the manager’s comments about his training performances.
The fallout led to his exile from the first team and, eventually, a loan move back to Dortmund. He returned to the Premier League with Chelsea this season, joining on loan with an obligation to buy, but it appears that Chelsea are not interested in signing Sancho on a permanent deal
Even though some fans initially backed Sancho, the mood turned after his perceived lack of respect for the club.
Sancho’s now-infamous ‘freedom’ comment, celebrating Marcus Rashford’s loan to Aston Villa — only deepened the rift with the club’s supporters.
While the winger is still under contract at Old Trafford until 2026, Sancho’s future at Man United is over.
