The second half of Brentford’s crunch clash against Fulham was delayed due to a drone.

Thomas Frank’s side emerged from the break with a valuable 2-1 lead over their west London rivals but play was briefly suspended before the second half started.

Both sets of players were moved to the side of the pitch for safety reasons after the drone was spotted hovering on the outside of the Gtech Community Stadium.

Remarkably, it’s not the first time a Brentford fixture has been impacted by a drone.

The Bees’ clash at home to Wolves in January 2022 was paused for 15 minutes after a drone was flown across the pitch.

Both players were instructed to depart the field when the drone appeared during the first half.

But Brentford and Wolves players soon re-emerged and underwent a brief warm-up before the contest resumed, which Wolves went on to win 2-1.

“It was the same for both teams,” Frank said following the loss.

“I guess if they find the person, he or she will get fined because they disrupted a match.”

Fulham who took the lead at the Gtech Community Stadium via Raul Jimenez in the 16th minute.

However, the Bees hit back via Bryan Mbuemo jut six minutes later for his 19th league goal of the campaign.

The Cameroonian star had the chance to double the home side’s advantage shortly after when Brentford were awarded a penalty.

But Mbuemo had his spot kick attempt saved by Bernd Leno.

Frank’s side would soon have the lead when Yoane Wissa struck two minutes before halftime.

Wissa was on hand to poke home from close range thanks to Christian Norgaard’s header.

But the home supporters were left stunned as the Cottagers hit back with two goals in as many minutes midway through the second half.

Tom Cairney, who appears destined to join Wrexham at the end of the season, bagged the equaliser in the 68th minute.

Harry Wilson, who struck a dagger into Brentford’s hearts in the reverse fixture at Craven Cottage, then restored Fulham’s lead shortly after.
