Reports have claimed that RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has attracted interest from Chelsea, though the Blues may face competition from Liverpool.
While Enzo Maresca‘s side currently occupy the fourth of five Champions League spots, they will play Champions League hopefuls Nottingham Forest on May 25.
A defeat against Forest could see the Blues miss out on Europe’s top club competition, and it could alter the team’s transfer plans in the upcoming market.
The Chelsea hierarchy will be keen to avoid participating in such a tense battle for the Champions League next season, and they will almost certainly be active in the summer.
Fichajes claim that the Londoners hold serious interest alongside Liverpool in the acquisition of Leipzig striker Sesko, who could demand a fee in the region of £84 million.

Is Sesko a risky move?
At his best, Sesko is a powerful ball striker and can compete physically with most defenders while acting as an outlet for his side when his teammates are pressed.
The 21-year-old is also deceptively quick, with his top speed of 35.69 km/h making him Leipzig’s third fastest player, and it should be said that renowned speedster Leroy Sane has recorded a slower top speed than him (35.31 km/h).
An opportunity to negotiate a lower fee could be on the cards considering Leipzig have failed to qualify for Europe this term after finishing seventh in the Bundesliga, and it would not be surprising if the German club needed to raise funds in the summer.
However, the Slovenian has failed to score in 21 of the 33 Bundesliga games he has played this season, and there have been matches where he has had limited impact.
Signing Sesko could prove to be a risky deal for Chelsea given they have often signed players based on their potential that have fallen short of lofty expectations at Stamford Bridge.
Perhaps bringing a more established forward to the club such as Victor Osimhen would be of more benefit to Maresca, who will be under pressure to consistently deliver results next season.
