Crystal Palace predicted XI vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers: Possible starting lineup as Oliver Glasner handed Adam Wharton issue

2 Min Read

Following Crystal Palace‘s success in the FA Cup against Manchester City on Saturday, it would not be surprising to see Oliver Glasner make a number of changes to the starting lineup against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday.

Jefferson Lerma is the most obvious contender to come into the team given he came on for centre-back Marc Guehi against City.

Lerma may be joined in a back three by Chris Richards and Maxence Lacroix, though veteran Joel Ward is likely to make an appearance in some capacity.

Considering the exhaustive exploits of right wing-back Daniel Munoz on the weekend, Nathaniel Clyne could start, while Tyrick Mitchell is the most probable candidate on the left.

With Adam Wharton a doubt after the FA Cup final due to a concussion, and Cheick Doucoure injured, perhaps Will Hughes and Daichi Kamada will play in a double pivot.

Up front, Glasner may look to rest stars Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta, especially as the pair were catalysts for Palace’s win against City and would benefit from extra recovery days.

Ismaila Sarr could be stationed in a front three with Romain Esse and Edward Nketiah, the latter of whom may play as the team’s central striker.

Crystal Palace possible starting lineup: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Lerma; Clyne, Hughes, Kamada, Mitchell; Esse, Sarr; Nketiah
