Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai seems to have shown his approval of a social media post announcing the Reds’ ‘agreed deal’ to bring Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong on board.
The Reds are nearing their second summer transfer, with Giorgi Mamardashvili already poised to complete his move from Valencia, as they aim to activate the Dutch international’s €35 million (approximately $39M) release clause.
Arne Slot and the Anfield top brass are swiftly taking action to address potential right-back issues, with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to depart the club at season’s end. While the Premier League champions revel in their off-pitch triumphs, behind the scenes, Liverpool is striving to defend their title, showing interest in Frimpong’s clubmate Florian Wirtz.
Szoboszlai was among those who liked an Instagram post by 433 and Fabrizio Romano, announcing that Frimpong will be joining the Merseyside ranks.
The post, which garnered over 1.8 million likes, read: “Here we go! Liverpool agree deal to sign Jeremie Frimpong as their new right back.
“Agreement done for Dutch RB, Bayer Leverkusen are informed on €35m release clause set to be triggered.
“Frimpong will sign a five year deal with medical now being scheduled, personal terms are 100% agreed.”

Frimpong remained on the bench during Leverkusen’s final match of the season against Mainz on Saturday.
After the final whistle, speculation ramped up about the 24-year-old undergoing a medical prior to a transfer to Liverpool.
The news came on the heels of Conor Bradley committing his future to the club with a new four-year contract.
The pre-match press conference for the upcoming clash with Brighton and Hove Albion saw Slot fielding queries about interest in Frimpong, but he steered clear of discussing any players not already with the Reds.

“It’s going to be a boring answer,” he warned.
“The whole season it was about the contract extensions of three players and now it’s about which players we are going to bring in.
“The answer is the same. We don’t talk about players we want to bring in in public until the moment they sign.
“What I can tell you is we already have Conor Bradley who can play really good in that position, Joe Gomez has played there multiple times. It’s not like Trent is leaving and I have no clue what to do anymore.
“But in general we are always looking at interesting players who can strengthen our squad.”
