Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly battling for the signature of Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze, who is seemingly destined to leave Selhurst Park during this summer’s transfer window.
Eze has been in outstanding form for Palace during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 13 goals and registering 11 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions, including four goals and one assist in the FA Cup to help the Eagles land the trophy.
The attacker scored the only goal of the match as Palace beat Manchester City in Saturday’s FA Cup final, and he is highly likely to depart the Eagles when this summer’s market opens for business.
Manchester United continue to be credited with an interest in the 26-year-old, but according to Fichajes, Man City and Chelsea are currently well-placed when it comes to the battle for his signature.
The report claims that the two Premier League clubs are willing to pay Palace’s asking price of £59m, with the pair seemingly going head-to-head for a deal during the summer market.

Man City, Chelsea ‘battling for Eze deal’
Eze made the move to Palace from Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2020, and he has represented the Eagles on 165 occasions in all competitions, scoring 39 goals and registering 28 assists in the process.
The attacker has a record of 33 goals and 23 assists in 144 matches for Palace in the Premier League, and he could now be set to make the step up to a team playing in the Champions League.
Palace have made huge steps forward under impressive head coach Oliver Glasner, and their FA Cup success on Saturday was historic, but the club have allegedly accepted that they cannot prevent Eze leaving due to the interest in his services.

Could Man United yet win the race?
Eze is also believed to be on Man United’s shortlist for the summer market, but the Red Devils will surely have to secure Champions League football for next season to stand a chance of signing him.
The 20-time English champions will tackle Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Europa League on Wednesday night, and the winner will secure a position in the league phase of next season’s Champions League.
Eze would be perfect for one of the number 10 spots in Ruben Amorim‘s 3-4-3 formation, but there is not such an obvious position for him in the Chelsea side due to the presence of a certain Cole Palmer.
The Englishman would have freedom to make his mark in the final third in a 3-4-3 set-up, but he could be moved wider by Chelsea.
Man City are looking for a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, meanwhile, so there is a spot open for him at the Etihad Stadium, and it is set to be a fascinating battle for his signature during the summer market.
