Kane now has two massive trophies to fill what was, for too long, an empty cabinet…
Bayern Munich finished their Bundesliga season with a second victorious victory lap, having beat Hoffenheim 4-0 in Sinsheim. The win sees that Bayern have equaled their 82 points tally they achieved in their famous Sextuple season of 2019/20, though they finished just 1 league goal shy of 100. Nonetheless, it was a deserved title for the German Rekordmeister, and it was Michael Olise, Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane that provided the goals for what was also Thomas Müller’s final Bundesliga match for Bayern..
For Kane, his goal in the winning effort against Hoffenheim was his 26th in the Bundesliga, and his 38th overall for this season. Although there has not been much of a race ever since Omar Marmoush’s winter transfer window move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Manchester City, Kane was also officially awarded kicker’s Torjägerkanone for finishing as the top scorer in the league. His tally of 26 goals was 5 more than Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrick Schick and Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy, both of whom finished with 21 league goals.
Impressively, Kane also finished with 8 Bundesliga assists on the season, one of which came in the 4-0 win at Hoffenheim. He didn’t quite hit his Bundesliga goals mark of 36 goals from last season, but he’ll certainly prefer the kanone plus the winner’s medal this time around.
The England skipper took to social media to offer his delight at having added the personal accolade to his Bundesliga title, giving credit to his teammates for helping achieve both:
This one’s coming home with me!
Buzzing to be Bundesliga top goalscorer for the second year in a row and this one’s even more special as it goes alongside the Bundesliga title! Couldn’t have achieved this without the support of my teammates! pic.twitter.com/WnvIvCf28S

After the win over Hoffenheim, the striker also looked forward to Bayern’s title celebrations that will take place at Marienplatz. It’s his first chance to have a proper title celebration as a player and he’s ready to soak in every moment of it. “It wouldn’t have been possible without my teammates. I’m enjoying it. Tomorrow at Marienplatz will certainly be fun. It will be my first time celebrating a title with the fans in our city. I’m really looking forward to it. Hopefully it will be a nice, sunny day—then we can have a good time together. It’s been a good season for many reasons. Now we’re going to enjoy it and recover well for the Club World Cup,” he enthused (via @iMiaSanMia).
