As the summer transfer window approaches, speculation surrounding big-name moves is heating up. One player looking to relocate is Kevin De Bruyne who will leave Manchester City at the end of the season.
Mohamed Salah has playfully hinted at a potential Anfield move for De Bruyne, telling the Belgian there’s “room for him” in Liverpool’s squad next season. In an interview with Sky Sports, Salah was asked if he had any parting words for De Bruyne ahead of his expected departure — and ended with a cheeky invitation for the Manchester City star.
He said: “I want to tell him congratulations for your career. He has done a phenomenal job for City, he was great for the league and I really wish him the best. And, yeah, we have a space for him!”
Even at 33, De Bruyne remains one of the most creative players in world football. His ability to dictate the tempo, break defensive lines with passes, and score from distance is unmatched in the Premier League. So just how could the Reds line up next season if they signed Kevin De Bruyne?
Alisson would undoubtedly remain in goal despite the incoming Giorgi Mamardashvili. At right-back Liverpool could have the luxury of two fantastic right-backs. While Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave the club in the summer, the Reds are set to bring in Jeremie Frimpong as well as Conor Bradley who recently signed a long term deal.
The center-back partnership of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate will remain with the left-back position also up for grabs. Andy Robertson had struggled at times the season and the Reds have been rumored to be looking for someone to give the Scotsman some more competition. with Milos Kerkez the most linked name.

The competition for who could join De Bruyne in the midfield is where it gets interesting. Ryan Gravenberch has excelled this season as number six and will more than likely retain his place. The Reds are spoilt for choice with who could partner De Bruyne with Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones all vying for a space.
Salah will undoubtedly remain on the right-wing but can also be rotated with Frimpong allowing the Egyptian more rest next season. On the left competition will be fierce between Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo. While Diaz has played up front for the Reds it’s not his natural position, with Darwin Nunez rumored to be leaving Anfield and Diogo Jota also not performing, the Reds are in the market for a striker with Ollie Watkins and Aleksander Isak the popular options.
Liverpool dream XI: Alisson, Frimpong, Van Dijk, Konate, Kerkez, Graveberch, De Bruyne, Mac Allister, Gakpo, Isak and Salah.
