Milos Kerkez ‘likes’ Liverpool transfer update amid rumors he could sign for Arne Slot

Liverpool fans on social media have taken note of the latest activity from Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, who is thought to be an option for the Reds as they look to strengthen during the summer transfer window.

Kerkez, who is said to be valued at around $60 million (£45 million) by Bournemouth, has been in exceptional form this season. The Hungary international has become one of the best full-backs in the Premier League under Andoni Iraola.

With Andy Robertson now 31, Liverpool finding a long-term successor to one day take over in the position full-time makes sense. And Kerkez, potentially, could be the answer.

The transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano took to Instagram to post about Jeremie Frimpong’s move to Anfield edging closer. And at the end of that update, there was also a line about Kerkez being an option for Liverpool.

That post has been liked by Kerkez’s official account. The 21-year-old has 733k followers on the social media platform and set tongues wagging with his latest activity.

Kerkez has played 36 times for Bournemouth in the Premier League so far this season. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided a further five assists.

Earlier this week, Arne Slot refused to talk about specific transfer targets ahead of the summer when he was asked about them ahead of facing Brighton.

“I think again it’s going to be a boring answer,” he said. “So, for the whole season, it was about the contracts of three players and now we are arriving in a time where everybody wants to know which players we are going to bring in!

“The answer is going to be the same. We don’t talk about the players we want to bring in in public until the moment they have signed for us, and then you can ask me everything about them.”

“First of all, then you assume that we are going to bring in new players,” Slot said later in the same press conference. “And I’ve said many times already that we, as a club, are very happy with the players we’ve got.

“Part of it is our decision but in some situations players that haven’t played a lot are not looking forward to another season not playing a lot. So, there’s always an ongoing process and we have to make sure that we are prepared if we can strengthen the squad.

“This club has always done that, no matter if we have 19, 20, 21 or 22 players. If we feel we can strengthen the squad, we do so but it’s difficult to strengthen this squad. There’s a reason why we won the league — because we have so many great players.”

Liverpool.com says: Kerkez and Frimpong in the same team feels very attacking, but also very exciting! If that is the way that Arne Slot goes, the Reds should create plenty of chances next season.
