Arsenal fans think shock player has played his last game for the club vs Newcastle after cryptic Instagram hints

Arsenal fans believe one of their players could be on the move this summer after seeing what his wife posted on Instagram on Sunday.

The Gunners beat Newcastle 1-0 at the Emirates, with a fine Declan Rice strike effectively securing second place for Mikel Arteta‘s men going into the final game of the season against bottom club Southampton.

Though they were disappointed to not be lifting the Premier League and were eliminated from the Champions League after an impressive run to the semi-finals, Arsenal’s players took part in a lap of honour after the last home game of the campaign.

But some supporters are convinced that one of their stars might have played his final game at the North London going off his other half’s Instagram activity.

Leandro Trossard, a £27 million signing from Brighton in January 2023, played 88 minutes in the Newcastle victory and was replaced by Kieran Tierney late on.

The partners and wives of Arsenal’s players were on the pitch after the game but Laura Hilven, Trossard’s wife and mother of his two children, has many fans thinking as though the Belgian has bid farewell.

On her Instagram story, she reposted a picture from @valeriejoeri with a caption which said, “Grateful for all the beautiful moments, you are beautiful inside and out”.

In addition, she shared a picture of herself with Bukayo Saka’s girlfriend Tolami Benson on the pitch, with the caption: “Mytwingirlforever. Loveyou”.

But with the tone of the messages, some believe that Trossard could be about to move on to pastures new after nearly two years.

One fan on X said: “These captions are sounding a little too much like goodbye please no Trossard I can’t do this.”

Another weighed in: “It was a good move for him & the club in the end, and he’s been a vital player on many occasions but if we want to progress & properly challenge not renewing is the right decision.”

A third wrote: “Had some very big highs, thank you for the memories Trossard.”

A fourth gave his thoughts, writing: “It would be stupid if this is actually true. He is the best LW at the club.”

Another agreed: “He is a perfect backup there’s no reason to get rid.”

What is Leandro Trossard’s contract situation?

It has been widely reported by the likes of the Daily Mail and Football Insider that Arsenal are keen on tying down Trossard to fresh terms.

His current deal is due to expire in 12 months but the club are said to be in advanced discussions over a four-year contract, by which point he would be 35 if he was to see it out.

Trossard has played 123 times for Arsenal, scoring 28 goals.
