It was a good season for Bayern Munich…

Ah, the end of the Bundesliga season is here and now it is time to look back at how things shook out statistically in the league.

Bayern Munich dominated many categories, but it is always worth a look to see which individual players excelled in specific areas. Let’s check out the breakdown as provided by @Squawka:

Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane led the league in shots on target (and goals, too):

Harry Kane was the only player to have 50+ shots on target in the Bundesliga this term.

Harry Kane became the first player in Bundesliga history to finish as the top goalscorer in each of his first two seasons in the competition.

Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich led the league in long passes by a longshot:

Kimmich was also the leader in completed passes:

Kimmich led the league in touches, too:

Kimmich also completed more passes in the final third than any other player in the Bundesliga:

Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise led the league in through balls completed:

Olise and Kimmich created more chances than anyone in the Bundesliga:

Olise led the league in assists:

Since Opta records began in 2004/05, Michael Olise’s 15 assists is the most in their debut season for Bayern in the Bundesliga.

Olise was dominant in big chances created as well:

No player has created more big chances in a Bundesliga campaign across the last eight seasons than Michael Olise in 2024/25 (32).

He’s only the second player to create 30+ big chances in a season in that time after Thomas Müller in 19/20 (31). pic.twitter.com/2oY1WQBud9

Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitiké were the “post masters” of the Bundesliga (not shockingly, Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry was close behind):

Wirtz took on more players than anyone else in the Bundesliga as well:

Meanwhile, Ekitiké had more touches in the opposing box than anyone else in Germany:

Incoming Bayern Munich midfielder Tom Bischof had more tackles than anyone else in Germany:

RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda was the most fouled player:

Nadiem Amiri won over 200 possessions for Mainz 05 and was the league leader:

VfL Wolfsburg’s Dennis Vavro and Heidenheim’s Patrick Mainka each had over 200 clearances:

VfL Bochum’s Philipp Hofmann was the ultimate duel-winner in the Bundesliga:

Naturally, Bayern Munich did not face as many shots as other club’s goalkeepers, so Heidenheim’s Kevin Müller, who spent the season under duress, was the league leader there:

RB Leipzig’s Péter Gulácsi led the league in clean sheets, just edging Manuel Neuer:

Bayern Munich’s season is over, but we have plenty to talk about. Let’s discuss how we feel about the season and why fan expectations will be higher in 2025/26. We’ll also hit on Harry Kane’s statements, which seem to indicate that he could extend his contract, while also giving a breakdown of Bayern Munich’s big contract/transfer situations. Finally, we touch on Uli Hoeneß proving he has not lost a step with the media as he provided some commentary on the Florian Wirtz transfer saga.
