Chelsea are still looking for solutions for an attack that cannot find continuity or balance. The squad has quality, but lacks spark in the final third. Under the leadership of Enzo Maresca, the team needs more attacking threat and a constant presence in the danger zone.

Several young talents are already part of the project, but there is still a need for someone with character, pace and ability to make a difference. Stamford Bridge know this; that is why the sporting management does not want to wait for the market to open before making a determined move. Everything points to the fact that the reinforcements that arrive must have an immediate impact and the capacity to sustain the project in the long term.

Chelsea are ready to pay €70 million for Eberechi Eze

As reported by Fichajes.net, Chelsea and Manchester City are willing to pay €70 million for Eberechi Eze. The 26-year-old Crystal Palace player has had an outstanding season in the Premier League, and his versatility has attracted the attention of both clubs. He can play as a playmaker, inside left or left winger, always with attacking intent and good reading of space. Chelsea see him as an ideal player to add pace, goals and creativity to their attack. The player’s numbers justify the interest: he has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists during the season.

From a project point of view, Chelsea seem to have solid reasons to move forward with this operation. Eze fits the profile that the club have tried to consolidate: English talent, in the best moment of his career, with the ability to grow and perform immediately. Maresca, who prioritises control, high pressing and fast movement, could find in Eze a player who offers something different.

His game is not limited to possession. He attacks the box, offers himself between the lines and has a goalscoring instinct. Tactically, Eze could fit in as a left winger or as a playmaker behind the striker. If Chelsea insist on a 4-3-3 or try a 3-4-2-1, the Englishman has room to adapt. In addition, his energy in transitions and his daring would be a relief for a team that often abuses the lateral pass.

Is it a good move from the Blues?

However, the big dilemma is the choice of player. Manchester City are a more tempting proposition considering the immediate sporting context. Playing under Guardiola, with title aspirations and in the Champions League, may weigh. However, at City he would have more competition. Grealish, Doku and Foden already occupy similar areas, and his arrival does not guarantee minutes.

Chelsea, on the other hand, could offer him a central role from the start. There, Eze would be a protagonist and not a rotational player. Another interesting reading is the financial one: if the blue club of London bet heavily, it shows that they have full confidence in the player. It would not be a simple signing, but a project message. The risk is clear: €70 million for a player who has not yet played in Europe. But if the club believe in his immediate impact and Maresca moulds him well, the investment could make sense. In that scenario, Chelsea would not only get a great reinforcement, they would also regain an attacking identity that has been missing for too long.
