Liverpool doesn’t have any new injuries, though how ready the players will be to play remains to be seen. There has been a lot of partying and not much training happening this week, with the Reds given a well-earned break.
Joe Gomez is nearing a return, but he might not be back in time to feature as he builds up his fitness again. Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was booed last time out against Arsenal, might be involved, but Arne Slot said no decision had been made on Friday.
Federico Chiesa didn’t make the bench last weekend but will hope to be involved here. Likewise, Harvey Elliott will be hoping for another opportunity to impress.
As for Brighton, Kaoru Mitoma is a doubt because of a heel injury. Joel Veltman and Lewis Dunk have both been missing recently, but the defensive pair have been passed fit.
Joao Pedro is suspended, while Solly March and James Milner are both set to be absent through injury. Georginio Rutter is nearing a return from an ankle issue.
