Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to emulate former striker Harry Kane by ending their wait for silverware in the Europa League final.

Harry Kane clinched the first title of his career by helping Bayern Munich to win the Bundesliga title almost two years on from his move away from Spurs.

Heung-min Son congratulated Kane on winning his first trophy and now the Tottenham captain will be hoping to do the same with the North London club on Wednesday.

Ahead of the Europa League final between Tottenham and Manchester United, Kane has issued a message to the club where he spent almost 20 years.

Harry Kane’s message to Tottenham

Harry Kane has revealed that he will be watching the Europa League final as a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur.

The striker admitted it will be ‘strange’ to watch the match as a spectator having featured in three cup finals for the Lilywhites.

The 32-year-old lost two League Cup finals and a Champions League final with Tottenham, but having now got his hands on silverware, he will be hoping Spurs can finally do the same.

Kane told ITV: “You know, it’ll be a special game, but it’ll be strange for me to be watching, you know, as a fan. But I’m wishing them all the best.”

Harry Kane on returning to the Premier League

Kane has been linked with a return to England with Manchester United and Tottenham both interested in bringing him back to the Premier League.

Links emerged after it became known that Kane has a release clause worth around £54 million and which becomes active as of the summer of 2026.

The striker is 47 goals behind Alan Shearer as the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer and that could well be in the back of his mind.

However, when he was asked whether he’s thought about returning to the Premier League, Kane told BBC Sport: “No, I don’t really think about it. I think I’ve learned in my career that as you become more experienced, you just do what you can.

“Football kind of takes you on your own journey. I really enjoy my time here and I’m not thinking about being anywhere else. We have a great coach, a great team, and I just want to be as successful as I can with Bayern.”
