What a moment it must have been for him.
Yes, folks, it has finally happened. Harry Edward Kane has finally won a trophy, lifting the Bundesliga title after a long, difficult yet ultimately successful season with Bayern Munich.
Elated, the former Tottenham Hotspur striker sat down with english publication BBCsport to describe how it felt the moment he received confirmation that he had won his first ever trophy.
“It was almost like a switch went off, and all of a sudden it was just a lot of emotion, a lot of joy,” Kane reminisced, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “We had a great night that night. Of course, I’m the one in the limelight because of my journey. But my journey isn’t just myself. It’s with a lot of my family, a lot of my friends who have been with me. They’ve been there for the ups and downs. They share the same emotion I do, so it was nice to share the pitch and moment with them.”
Trophy celebrations were something he had only seen on television and from the loser’s podium, as unfortunate as that is, so being able to celebrate himself was simply indescribable: “It was an amazing experience, to be honest,” Kane said, via @iMiaSanMia. “Obviously I’ve seen celebrations like this from afar but, until you experience it yourself, it’s hard to put into words.”
An experience he has had many times, whether in the World Cup, the Premier League or the Bundesliga has been winning the top scorer award. This year, however, winning that award was just that little bit sweeter: “I think this one’s even more special because we won the title with it as well,” Kane mused, via @iMiaSanMia. “Obviously, I’ve won a few in my career and you can never really celebrate that, because you always will be disappointed that the season hasn’t finished the way you wanted to. So yes, to have that, plus the title, was just a perfect way to finish the season.”
