The supporter-chosen XI allows fans to select their best team from the last nine months, with the Premier League naming nominees for each position. Fans must select a goalkeeper, two full-backs, two center-backs, two midfielders, two attackers, and two strikers from a list of candidates to form their team, which lines up in a traditional 4-4-2 shape.

A total of 60 players have been nominated, one from each Premier League club. Liverpool’s eight players are the most from any team, with seven chosen from Nottingham Forest, six from Newcastle United and five from Arsenal.

The current bottom five – Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton have just one player apiece.

Alisson is one of the 10 goalkeepers up for selection and will face competition from the likes of Matz Sels and David Raya, while Trent Alexander-Arnold makes the shortlist at right-back. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate are among the 10 center-backs fans can choose, but Andy Robertson misses out in the left-back category.

Reported Liverpool transfer target Milos Kerkez can be selected on the left of the back four, as can Atonee Robinson and Rayan Ait-Nouri, who have also been linked with a summer move to Anfield.

In midfield, three of the 10 nominees are Reds: Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai make the list, while Mohamed Salah is the last Liverpool candidate, with the league’s top scorer in the attackers section.

Fans are not offered the option of Luiz Diaz and Cody Gakpo despite their significant roles in Liverpool’s title-winning campaign.

Striker is one of just two positions where Liverpool is not represented, with Alexander Isak, Chris Wood and Yoane Wissa the three standout candidates in that area.

The vote is open for fans until Thursday May 29, and the players with the most votes in each category will make up the Fan Team of the Season. This is the second year the Premier League has run the vote, with Alexander-Arnold the only Liverpool player included last term.

Meanwhile, Liverpool.com’s writers have made their choice for the Team of the Season, with Van Dijk, Gravenberch and Salah named in all three XIs.
