Harvey Elliott makes Liverpool future admission with Wolves waiting in the wings,”I’m focusing on…”

Harvey Elliott has given a big hint on his Liverpool future amid speculation from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a standout performance in Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat to Brighton, contributing both a goal and an assist.

Game time has been scarce for Elliott this season, starting just twice for Arne Slot’s side, which has left the midfielder frustrated.

This season was built up for Elliott to become a Liverpool mainstay, but it just hasn’t happened.

Harvey Elliott open to Liverpool exit

Following his brilliant display against the Seagulls, Elliott wasn’t discreet when discussing his future at Anfield.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the defeat, Elliott said: “It’s been hard with how much I’ve played. I’ve tried as hard as I could and whatever happens, happens.

“It’s about what’s best for my career. It’s about reflecting and seeing what I can do. I’m here at the moment and I’m focusing on the final game.”

Elliott made 34 Premier League appearances last season, but has only managed half that number this term.

As a result, he may be eyeing up a move elsewhere this summer.

Wolves keen on Elliott deal

Naturally, multiple top-flight clubs are interested in the midfielder, due to his outstanding potential and experience of playing for an elite Premier League team.

talkSPORT recently revealed that Wolves are one of the sides showing the strongest attraction to the Liverpool star, who the Reds value at around £40m.

With Matheus Cunha looking to be Old Trafford-bound, Wolves are expected to back manager Vitor Pereira in the transfer market.

Elliott would raise the bar at the Molineux, and the signing would be a real statement of intent from Wolves, showing their desire to progress back up the Premier League.

Ex-pros such as Lucas Leiva tipped Elliott for big things this season, highlighting the respect the youngster has within the game.

The midfielder was excited to work under Slot this season, and was quick to praise the Reds boss in pre-season.

But, if Slot and Co. can’t satisfy Elliott’s game time needs, the 22-year-old could be the poster boy of Vitor Pereira’s Wolves side next season.
