Jurgen Klopp‘s agent Marc Kosicke has categorically denied any rumours that the former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager will become the next manager of Roma.
A bombshell report from La Stampa began doing the rounds on social media on Monday night, claiming that Klopp had told Roma he would be happy to become the club’s next manager.
Claudio Ranieri is set to resume his retirement at the end of the season, after returning to guide the Giallorossi up the Serie A standings following a difficult start, and into Champions League contention.
Roma need to win on the final day away to Torino and hope Juventus drop points against Venezia in order to finish in the top four, and potentially open up the possibility of a big-name manager taking the reins at the Stadio Olimpico.

Klopp turns down a move to Serie A
It is tough to call where Klopp’s next job could be, given that it is tough to imagine him anywhere else due to his affinity to both Liverpool and Dortmund, but one thing that is certain is that it will not be in the Italian capital.
Quickly responding to the rumours that emerged on Monday night, Klopp’s agent Kosicke revealed early on Tuesday that they were false.
Speaking to Qatari outlet WinWin, Kosicke said: “Reports on Klopp becoming the new AS Roma manager are not true.”
Klopp has been out of work since choosing to call time on his spell at Liverpool last year, citing mental fatigue as one of the key factors behind his decision.
However, the 57-year-old has taken up a role behind the scenes with the Red Bull Group, who oversee their clubs based in Leipzig and Salzburg, among others, but which saw huge criticism from his former adorning fans at Dortmund and across Germany.

Another year away from the dugout for Klopp?
With Xabi Alonso all set to become the new Real Madrid manager, there are set to be no managerial roles out there for a manager of Klopp’s calibre to take this summer.
That may have no impact on Klopp’s decision either way, with it not beyond the realm of possibility that the German will not take on another managerial job in his career.
Unless Klopp returns to a former club, the only other role he may consider taking is that of the Germany national team, given that there were murmurings of him being persuaded by that job before leaving Anfield.
There are rumours that his contract with Red Bull does have an exit clause included in it though, that would allow Klopp to leave for nothing and become the Germany manager if Julian Nagelsmann departs – something which could be on the cards following the 2026 World Cup.
