Is Leroy Sané really going to leave Bayern Munich?
Bayern Munich star Leroy Sané has been linked to a number of clubs — Liverpool FC, Arsenal FC, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, FC Barcelona, and…Olympique Marseille.
Despite the reports, Olympique Marseille sporting director Medhi Benatia refused to comment on the report linking his club to Sané.
“We’ve tried with all top players with expiring contracts. We’re watching the market and looking at the opportunities, that’s our job. I won’t give names, it’s too early for that,” Benatia told beIN Sports (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The door is still open for Sané to return to Bayern Munich, but time is ticking. If Bayern Munich inks Florian Wirtz, Sané’s value to the Bavarians will plummet. If the Germany international thinks he can get a bigger payday and better role elsewhere, it does not sound like Bayern Munich will stand in his way.
