Report: Arsenal still want to sign £80m player who recreated Thierry Henry’s celebration at the Emirates

Andrea Berta will be determined to make his mark at Arsenal and do whatever it takes to hand Mikel Arteta the tools to succeed next season.

Viktor Gyokeres is Berta’s primary target as the Italian sporting director has placed all his focus on wrapping up a deal to sign the Sporting CP striker.

While Arsenal have sealed Martin Zubimendi’s signing by agreeing a deal to bring the Spaniard to the Emirates Stadium.

But Mikel Arteta will perhaps be demanding more incomings in the summer to put his side in the best position to win a major trophy in the following campaign.

Arsenal still interested in signing Newcastle star Anthony Gordon

A name who Arsenal have been linked with is Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon.

Arsenal are fans of Gordon but their appreciation came to the fore months ago.

But the i Paper have revealed the North Londoners, alongside Chelsea remain interested in signing the England international.

While Newcastle do not have any major financial concerns, the feeling at St. James’ Park is that it would be best for them to stay ahead of the curve and be open to making certain sales.

It is unlikely that Newcastle sell Alexander Isak and Gordon is perhaps the most valuable player in their squad after the Swede — with the Magpies’ asking price being set at £80 million.

But aside from the former Everton speedster, Nico Williams is on Andrea Berta’s radar as well.

Arsenal hugely admire Athletic Bilbao’s Williams as they would love to have the 22-year-old and Gabriel Martinelli on their roster.

With both players being natural left-wingers, it would be fair to see how their stats stack up against each other.

Based on the numbers, Williams has the edge on Gordon.

However, the disparity between the pair is not sufficient for one to consider either as the superior wideman by a margin.

With Gordon being Premier League-proven instead of Williams, it will be intriguing to see if this very factor prompts Arsenal to make a move for the former.
