Manchester United to accelerate Viktor Gyokeres efforts

Man United are set to accelerate in their attempts to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, according to L’Equipe.

The report claims Man United have been working on the outlines of their summer transfer window, with a clear idea of the avenues to explore for each targeted position.

They reported that the Red Devils have already ‘completed’ Cunha’s signing, but the club is still hoping to be active with regards to bringing in more attacking reinforcements.

The report also claimed that other suitors – Arsenal have been linked with Gyokeres – are taking their time on that front, which could benefit Man United.

The Red Devils are ‘the first major European club to have made a concrete move’, added the report.

Why Man United must be wary of Arsenal in Viktor Gyokeres pursuit

Gyokeres has been described by Fabrizio Romano as “one of the best strikers in Europe” and, as claims go, it’s one most would agree with.

The 26-year-old has registered an absolutely staggering 53 goals and 13 assists from 51 games in all competitions this term.

However, Man United must be mindful of Arsenal, who are now strongly in the mix to sign Gyokeres.

TBR Football has even reported that Arsenal have held talks with Gyokeres – so the Red Devils will need to step up their efforts as soon as possible.

Interestingly, Declan Rice has recently liked one of Gyokeres’ Instagram posts.

Sporting are ready to sell Gyokeres for £55million – which, in this day and age, is a very reasonable sum for such a prolific striker in his prime.
