Manchester United and Atletico Madrid are both showing interest in Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez, talkSPORT understands.

The 32-year-old has lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, but sources close to Martinez say he would prefer to stay in Europe.

Atletico boss Diego Simeone is a big admirer of his fellow Argentine while the World Cup winner has also been on United’s radar for some time.

Any move to Old Trafford would be reliant on Manchester United managing to offload Andre Onana for a fee, with the Red Devils prioritising other positions.

Villa have put a £40million price tag on Martinez.

Magpies plan new striker talks

Newcastle are among the clubs due to hold talks with Ipswich’s in-demand striker Liam Delap this week.

Delap plans to hold face-to-face discussions with all of his suitors before deciding who to join this summer.

Eddie Howe’s Champions League hopefuls are one of the clubs who have shown an interest in triggering the England Under-21 international’s £30m release clause.

As reported on Monday, Delap has already met Manchester United and will also speak to top brass at Chelsea.

The former Manchester City youngster would ideally prefer to return to the north west, but will consider a number of factors including the chance to play in Europe next season.

Newcastle want to add another striker to their ranks with Callum Wilson expected to leave.

City target Wirtz alternative

Manchester City are ready to step up their interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White after walking away from a potential deal for Florian Wirtz.

City sources confirmed a talkSPORT on Monday they were not pursuing Wirtz after being put off by Bayer Leverkusen’s £126m price tag.

With Wirtz widely expected to join Bayern Munich, City have widened their search for a successor for the departing Kevin de Bruyne.

It is believed Gibbs-White features a prominently on their wish list.

City chiefs think they could prize him away from Forest, particularly if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side miss out on a place in the Champions League.

Gibbs-White has ambitions to play in Europe’s Premier competition to bolster his hopes of a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England World Cup squad next summer.

Bournemouth have identified teenage Nantes defender Nathan Zeze as a potential replacement for Real Madrid-bound Dean Huijsen.

The Cherries have heavily scouted 19-year-old Zeze during his breakthrough season.

talkSPORT understands the centre-back is one of a number of names on their list to succeed Huijsen.
