Ryan Babel excited about Liverpool signing Jeremie Frimpong

Ryan Babel has taken to X to share his excitement for Liverpool signing Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.

The former Liverpool man claims that Frimpong’s medical is complete, he will soon sign his contract and then be announced as one of Arne Slot’s new signings.

Liverpool are set to pay £35m to sign Frimpong which is the release clause in his contract with Leverkusen. Liverpool think £35m for Frimpong is great value considering he is one of the best full-backs in Europe.

Liverpool have been scouting Frimpong for several months now, with Trent Alexander-Arnold expected to leave for Real Madrid. Frimpong will compete with Conor Bradley for the right-back spot.

Who is next for Liverpool after Jeremie Frimpong deal?

TBR Football understands that Liverpool have opened talks for Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth as they look to add further defensive reinforcement. The Hungarian defender is set to cost the Reds around £40 million in what could be another bargain signing at full-back.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have held talks with Rayan Cherki with Slot also keen to bring in more attackers for his squad. Florian Wirtz is another Liverpool target, however, the German looks destined to join Bayern Munich instead.
