Kevin De Bruyne has made a real impression with City fans over his decade in sky blue – and, as you’ll see from this video, he has been a shining example for teammates too.
As KDB says goodbye to the Etihad Stadium this evening, his colleagues past and present took to their mobile phones to send in video messages for the departing hero.
The likes of Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta, Fernandinho and Joe Hart from yesteryear as well as current stars Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan tell KDB what he means to them in heartwarming exchanges.
We also hear from club legend Mike Summerbee, celebrity fan Ricky ‘Hitman’ Hatton and, in a truly lovely touch, KDB’s wife and three children who talk lovingly about their husband and father.
The video messages were played on the Etihad big screen during KDB’s fitting farewell on the conclusion of our game against Bournemouth.
