Spurs have endured a dismal season, currently sitting 17th in the Premier League, having suffered a whopping 21 defeats.

Despite that, Maddison has enjoyed a great personal campaign, scoring nine goals and contributing seven assists in just 21 league starts, silencing doubters such as Roy Keane who questioned the playmaker’s ability.

A knee injury will prevent the 28-year-old from contributing towards Tottenham’s Europa League final against Manchester United, a cruel blow for Spurs’ No.10.

Heung-Min Son revealed his Europa League dreams, making Maddison’s absence all the harder to cope with.

That said, the Spurs star will have his annual golf tournament to take his mind off his injury woes.

Organised by the Tottenham star, the Maddison Invitational is a fundraiser consisting of an 18-hole pro-am style tournament raising money for charity.

The tournament was created in 2023 to support Sophie’s Sparkle Fund, a charity raising vital funds for bone cancer research and help for affected families.

Last year’s event continued the spirit of giving by supporting Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, helping provide specialist care for seriously unwell children and their families. Maddison and Co. raised £75,000 for the cause, highlighting the tournament’s power.

The tournament will be held at the prestigious Centurion Club on the 27th of May, with a number of challenges accompanying the 18-hole event, including the ‘Nearest to the Pin’ challenge and the ‘Longest Drive’.

One of the key attractions of the Maddison Invitational is the A-list names that are taking part in the tournament.

Featured amongst the professionals is Major Champion & Olympic gold medallist Justin Rose, who narrowly missed out on clinching The Masters earlier this year.

Rose was heartbroken following The Masters, but hasn’t let the defeat stop him competing in Maddison’s Invitational.

Other pros include Dan Grieve and Inci Mehmet.

The amateurs are packed full of star-studded names, such as Chelsea legend John Terry, former WBC Cruiserweight Champion Tony Bellew and former England bowler and cricketing legend Jimmy Anderson, amongst many others.

Manchester United treble winner Andy Cole led a team comprising of Wes Nelson, Danny Ward and Glen Atchinson to victory last year, whilst Aston Villa full-back Matty Cash hit the longest drive.

The teams will battle it out to secure victory in 2025, but the overriding message of the tournament is the brilliant cause it was created for, and the monumental help it provides to the respective charities involved.
