Well deserved…
Bayern Munich star Harry Kane was named Bundesliga Player of the Year. The club issued a release for the honor on its website:
Harry Kane was one of the defining figures of this past season, lifting his first senior trophy, retaining his Bundesliga top scorer crown, and now also being named the Player of the Season in Germany’s top flight for 2024/25. Well done, Harry!
The striker scored 26 times for Bayern this past campaign to become the first player in Bundesliga history to be top scorer in his first two seasons playing in the league. The England captain also provided eight assists, meaning only Liverpool’s Mo Salah (46) has had a direct hand in more goals across Europe’s top five leagues in 2024/25 than Kane with 34. Having previously earned numerous individual accolades throughout his career, such as last season’s Golden Shoe as Europe’s top scorer, Kane has now finally got his hands on a major team trophy with this year’s Bundesliga title.
Kane went to offer a statement thanking everyone who helped him achieve the honor.
“To be named Player of the Season is a great achievement. There are some amazing players here in the league. And to do it in the same year we won the title as well just makes it that little bit more special. It means a lot,” Kane said. “Big thanks to the club here, all my teammates, all the staff, because without them, of course, it wouldn’t be possible. I’m gonna enjoy it because I’ve worked extremely hard this season, so everything like this is just an added bonus.”
