Exclusive: Brighton issue warning to Arsenal and Liverpool about what it would take to sign Joao Pedro

3 Min Read

TBR Football can reveal that Joao Pedro’s suitors have been alerted to the fact he is ‘unsettled’ at Brighton and Hove Albion and he could look to leave this summer.

Reports have claimed that Brighton were willing to sell Pedro this summer, but TBR Football understands that this is not the case.

The 23-year-old has hit double figures for the first time in the Premier League this term and Brighton regard him as a huge part of their future, although this week saw him miss their win over Liverpool following a training ground altercation with Jan Paul van Hecke.

Brighton insist the incident is now over – but it has impacted Pedro’s frame of mind and several Premier League clubs are circling again.

Brighton stand firm over £100m valuation of Joao Pedro

TBR Football has previously reported that Joao Pedro was valued at £100 million by Brighton and they insist that remains the case.

But TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has now been told that the player’s main suitors have been briefed about his potential eagerness to leave the AMEX this summer.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all confirmed admirers of Pedro, but it was not believed he would be attainable this summer, however, they have been told that he may look to move.

Newcastle United, who tried to sign Pedro from Watford, also remain huge fans of the player and they also remain keen on him.

However, Brighton, who TBR Football have been told are ‘unamused’ by the reports that Pedro could be available, are insistent that he won’t be sold this summer.

Do Joao Pedro’s stats justify Brighton’s £100m price tag?

It’s very tricky to see any club going anywhere near the £100m asking price of Brighton, especially given the options elsewhere.

Joao Pedro’s stats this season

Sporting CP want £55m for Viktor Gyokeres, Liam Delap is available for £30m and Benjamin Sesko is valued at £60m. All three strikers represent much better value for money than Pedro at £100m.
