TBR Football understands West Ham United are showing an interest in several Chelsea defenders if, as expected, they are allowed to leave this summer.
Chelsea are bringing in a new central defender this summer and they could yet welcome back Renato Veiga to Enzo Maresca’s squad after his impressive spell with Juventus.
That means the futures of Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo and Axel Disasi likely lie away from Stamford Bridge and the Hammers hold an interest in all three players.
West Ham like Chelsea trio Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo and Axel Disasi
West Ham United hold an interest in Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo – should they become available, but they are also keeping tabs on Axel Disasi’s situation, if his loan move from Aston Villa is not made permanent, sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey.
Chalobah, a homegrown product, spent time on loan at Crystal Palace, but his sale represents a clear profit, as does that of free transfer Adarabioyo, who only joined them last summer.
The Blues are expected to make both players available in a bid to fund moves for their own centre-back targets. Chelsea want Marc Guehi, who is expected to become available for £40 million, as reported by TBR Football.
What Graham Potter said about Trevoh Chalobah at Chelsea
Graham Potter was full of praise for Chalobah during their time together at Chelsea. The 25-year-old made 21 appearances under the West Ham boss.
Speaking to the media back in October 2022 about the defender potentially being called up to the England squad, Potter told Chelsea FC: “I’ve been very impressed from day one.
“I’m not surprised he’s got that link, but thankfully it’s not my problem, it’s someone else’s. He’s playing every week for us, but that’s a decision for Gareth [Southgate] to make, not me.”
