Meet the new boss?

The Xabi Alonso Era at Bayer Leverkusen was wildly successful.

Most importantly for Die Werkself, Alonso pushed the club to knock Bayern Munich from its Bundesliga perch, but the success was much more widespread than even that. With Alonso exiting for Real Madrid, the club could now be choosing between Erik ten Hag and Cesc Fàbregas.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted that Bayer Leverkusen is engaged in talks with former Bayern Munich campus coach Erik ten Hag:

⚫️ Bayer Leverkusen made progress in talks with Erik ten Hag to become their new head coach.

Ten Hag has given his total availability after direct contact taking place earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg says that the race is down to Ten Hag and Fàbregas:

⤵️ As reported: Erik ten Hag has already signalled to Bayer 04 Leverkusen that he is ready to become head coach!

Ten Hag has always been the clear favourite for Leverkusen, should the move for Cesc Fabregas fall through. Talks ongoing.
