£105m Arsenal player now publicly says he’s open to moving away from the Premier League

4 Min Read

Arsenal have fallen short again this season in both the Champions League and the Premier League.

It’s now been five years since the Gunners won a major trophy, and, to rub salt in the wounds, even Tottenham have won a major trophy more recently than Arsenal now.

The Gunners haven’t had the success they would’ve wanted over the past few years, and now, they’re in danger of potentially losing some key players.

Arsenal have been warned about losing William Saliba, and while Bukayo Saka is set for a new contract, big clubs will be sniffing around.

Meanwhile, Jamie Carragher recently warned Arsenal that Declan Rice may look to leave the club if they don’t start winning soon.

Speaking to Wonderland Magazine, Declan Rice has now made an interesting claim about his future.

Declan Rice is open to leaving the Premier League

During an interview with Wonderland Magazine, Rice was asked if he was open to leaving the Premier League at any point.

Rice has played his entire career in England so far, but the midfielder has now said that he is indeed open to leaving England.

Rice is a world-class player, and after putting in two standout performances against Real Madrid in recent times, it wouldn’t be a shock if he was on the Spanish giants’ radar.

“Would you ever leave the Premier League?” Rice was asked.

“Yes,” Rice said.

Declan Rice was wanted by Bayern Munich

Declan Rice is open to leaving England at some point, and he has previously flirted with the idea of moving abroad.

Indeed, back in the summer of 2023, just before his £105m move to Arsenal, Rice was a wanted man, and one of Europe’s biggest clubs were sniffing around him.

Bayern Munich wanted Declan Rice back in 2023, and Rice even had a phone call with Thomas Tuchel about this move.

Of course, there’s no suggestion that Rice is currently angling for this move, but the midfielder does clearly harbour some sort of ambition to move abroad at some point in his career, whether that’s joining a European giant over the next few years or making a late-career move to MLS or Saudi Arabia as so many of his peers have in recent times.

Rice isn’t pushing to leave Arsenal at the moment, but this is the first small suggestion that he’s thinking about life beyond his stint at the Emirates.
