Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been blessed with a double attacking boost for Sunday’s crunch Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
The Blues will be guaranteed Champions League qualification with victory on the final day, and while the banned Nicolas Jackson cannot contribute, Christopher Nkunku and Marc Guiu can.
Maresca confirmed in his pre-game press conference that the pair had shaken off injuries and would be available for selection, and it would not be a shock to see Nkunku given the nod up front.
Teenage talent Tyrique George was trusted to take on that role in last Friday’s 1-0 win over Manchester United, but Nkunku should now rejoin Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke in the attacking third.
Amid fresh links with a move to Real Madrid, Enzo Fernandez will no doubt reprise his midfield role, likely alongside Moises Caicedo as Reece James continues in his favoured right-back slot.
Full-back to full-back was the formula for success last Friday, as James’s cross was on the money for Marc Cucurella to head home the winning goal, and the latter will hold his place too.
However, Tosin Adarabioyo‘s spot will be at risk, as Trevoh Chalobah should now return to partner Levi Colwill, his future England teammate after he earned a maiden call-up to the Three Lions squad.
Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Sanchez; James, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Madueke, Palmer, Neto; Nkunku
