Crystal Palace lineup vs. Liverpool: Predicted XI for Premier League finale including Wharton, Guehi updates

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner will not be able to call upon midfield maestro Adam Wharton against Liverpool in Sunday’s Premier League finale, while Marc Guehi‘s participation is in doubt.

Both Eagles fulcrums were absent from the 4-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in midweek due to issues sustained in the FA Cup final win over Manchester City, as Wharton suffered a concussion and Guehi a freak eye injury.

Glasner has already confirmed that Wharton – reportedly a target of Liverpool’s – will not feature again before the season is over, and it remains to be seen if Guehi will make the cut on Merseyside.

Regardless, departing captain Joel Ward should lead Palace out for one final time before bidding farewell to the FA Cup champions, likely as part of an unchanged back three alongside Maxence Lacroix and Chris Richards.

Ex-Reds right-back Nathaniel Clyne is an alternative in the heart of defence and out wide, but Daniel Munoz should continue to bomb up and down that flank, while Tyrick Mitchell can expect to displace Ben Chilwell.

Both Will Hughes and Justin Devenny got 45 minutes under their belts in midweek, while Jefferson Lerma completed the full 90, but the latter’s place will come under threat from a well-rested Daichi Kamada.

Further forward, Eddie Nketiah‘s brace against Wolves should not be enough to see him keep Jean-Phillipe Mateta at bay, while the in-demand Eberechi Eze may make his last Eagles appearance ahead of a likely summer auction.

Crystal Palace possible starting lineup:
Henderson; Ward, Richards, Lacroix; Munoz, Hughes, Kamada, Mitchell; Sarr, Eze; Mateta
