It was only a matter of time
Dayot Upamecano has matured into one of the best center-backs in the Bundesliga, and Bayern Munich were prepared to give him a new contract. Despite uncertainty at different points, including the possibility of him leaving, this has now been squashed as the extension of the 26-year-old defender is all but certain:
Bayern and Dayot Upamecano have an agreement over the salary. It’s now just about the signing fee, which is not expected to be a problem. Upamecano is set to extend his contract at Bayern.

The odd one out, however, is Kim Min-jae who is still told that he can leave the club. With Jonathan Tah not even in the bag just yet, it would be unwise to sell a player who has been incorrectly framed for certain shortcomings throughout the recently concluded season.
