West Ham United will face off against Ipswich Town at Portman Road this Sunday afternoon as they try to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Hammers suffered a 2-1 loss against Nottingham Forest recently, so they would be eager to put in a much-improved showing this weekend.

Graham Potter will opt for the 3-4-3 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first team for this game. Niclas Fullkrug, Carlos Soler and Edson Alvarez could all play from the start of this clash.

Defence

Alphonse Areola will operate in between the sticks for West Ham United after conceding two goals in his last league outing. Potter could name a back three of Aaron Cresswell, Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo as they focus on keeping a good shape on the defensive end of the pitch.

Konstantinos Mavropanos will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Carlos Soler and Edson Alvarez will anchor the midfield for the Hammers as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. Aaron Wan-Bissaka will once again get the nod to start as the left-sided wide player while Vladimir Coufal hopes to prove his value on the right flank. Potter will ask both of them to make some overlapping runs in behind the Ipswich backline at every chance they get.

James Ward-Prowse, Lucas Paqueta and Guido Rodriguez will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Mohammed Kudus will operate as the left-winger while Jarrod Bowen hopes to put his pace to good use from the right. Niclas Fullkrug will lead the line for the East London club up top. He would be eager to impress after failing to start last weekend.

Crysencio Summerville and Michail Antonio will be sidelined for this game due to injuries. Evan Ferguson will make up the numbers on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if West Ham United are in need of a goal by then.
