‘I partied with Harvey Elliott until 6 a.m just days before Liverpool loss to Brighton’

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott made the most of the Premier League title celebrations with a trip to Ibiza, according to club owner Wayne Lineker.

Reds boss Arne Slot headed for the party capital last week after his side cemented their place as Premier League champions. Slot was seen at Ocean Beach club alongside owner Lineker, the brother of ex-England striker Gary.

Lineker has now opened up on the surprise visit from the Liverpool boss and revealed Elliott also made the venture out to Ibiza just days before his side was beaten by Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Monday night.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “Arne was definitely up for a party. What a nice man. I ended up getting my picture, my video. It was great to see him. He was in a very spiritual, happy spirit mood. He’s a good guy.

“I just got a message. I think one of his team, his management or someone, contacted either Tony Truman or just went directly to the office, but word got to me very fast that he was coming in. “So I got myself ready, did my hair especially and went to meet him.

“We actually put him on the stage so literally everyone could see him. We did a big show. He was creating a lot of attention, shall we say.”

On players visiting his famous beach club, Lineker added: “In June, it’s like a PFA meeting in Ocean. It’s that many of them. It’s good fun.

“Who did we have last week? Harvey Elliott was in the other day. “Then I ended up in Pacha with Harvey at 6 o’clock on Sunday morning.”

Slot was asked about his visit to the Belearic Islands ahead of the game with Brighton and even managed to aim a cheeky dig at ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.

On Sky Sports, he said: “Jamie has been in Ibiza more than I have and still been able to perform on Monday Night Football! We have lived Carra’s life for a few days as well.”

Elliott played the full 90 minutes as Liverpool was beaten 3-2 by Brighton. The result didn’t dampen the spirits of Liverpool supporters who continued their title celebrations, with more to follow at Anfield this weekend.

The Reds will be presented with the Premier League trophy after the game against Crystal Palace with a parade also set to take place in the city to celebrate the achievement on Monday.
