Manchester United reportedly have a summer transfer budget of ‘a little less than £100m’, with the team planning to be active during the upcoming market despite their failure to qualify for the 2025-26 Champions League.

The Red Devils have had a disastrous domestic season, sitting down in 16th spot in the Premier League table, but they would have saved their campaign with a victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.

Ruben Amorim‘s side suffered a 1-0 defeat to the North London club, and there will not be any European football at Old Trafford next season, which has huge financial implications.

According to The Guardian, as it stands, Man United have a transfer budget for just shy of £100m, which can be spent without sanctioning sales.

Naturally, that figure could rise with outgoings, and Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho are among those who could leave, while Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof are set to depart on free transfers.

Man United are seemingly in pole position to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with a £62.5m deal for the Brazilian expected to be completed in the near future.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are also looking to bring in a new number nine, with Ipswich Town‘s Liam Delap, who has a £30m release clause in his contract, thought to be their leading target in that area of the field.

Head coach Amorim would like a third attacker, with Brentford‘s Bryan Mbeumo and Crystal Palace‘s Eberechi Eze also allegedly admired, while a new goalkeeper, centre-back and central midfielder could also be targeted.

Andre Onana‘s ongoing struggles are expected to lead to Man United moving for a new number one, while there will be space in the squad for a defender and a midfielder due to the likely exits of Lindelof and Eriksen.

Will Hojlund leave Man United this summer?

There is currently widespread speculation surrounding the future of Rasmus Hojlund, with the Denmark international again struggling to make his mark in the final of the Europa League on Wednesday night.

Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli are all believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation at Old Trafford, with Man United believed to be prepared to let him leave for the right price this summer.

Hojlund showed a lot of promise during his first season at Man United following a move from Atalanta BC, scoring 16 times in all competitions, including 10 in the Premier League, but he has managed only four league goals this term and 10 overall.

The Dane could play his final game for the Red Devils against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, and a departure for the 22-year-old could lead to two new strikers arriving during this summer’s transfer window rather than one.
