Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer.
The Brazil international has been overshadowed by Galacticos like Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior, and the arrival of Kylian Mbappe in 2024 made things worse for him.
TBR Football exclusively revealed earlier this month that Rodrygo is unhappy at Real Madrid and could leave the club this summer.
Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed that Arsenal had even begun talks to sign Rodrygo ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Now, a report from Spain shares a fresh update.
Arsenal target Rodrygo will only leave Real Madrid on one condition
Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world.
Los Blancos failed to win the Champions League and La Liga this season, which was extremely disappointing for them, but they are still the club many players want to be a part of.
Carlo Ancelotti has been shown the door, and Xabi Alonso is set to take charge of Real Madrid in the coming days.
The Spaniard’s system – according to AS – consists of three centre-backs and two attackers. That leaves no space for Rodrygo to be a starter.
Despite that, Rodrygo is willing to fight for his place at the club, and he is expected to hold a meeting with Alonso once he officially takes over.
The report then claims that the only way Rodrygo would consider a move to England is if Alonso tells him directly that he will no longer be a prominent player.
Arsenal will have to wait and see if that will happen in the coming days.
Arsenal have other options if Rodrygo move becomes impossible
Rodrygo Goes would be an excellent signing for Arsenal.
The Brazilian can play anywhere in attack, is brilliant on the ball, is an outstanding dribbler, and he has delivered at the highest level.
If Rodrygo is gettable, Arsenal should do everything they can to sign him, but the Gunners have other options too.
Nico Williams is a long-time target of Mikel Arteta, and there is a good chance that he will leave Athletic Bilbao this summer.
AC Milan star Rafael Leao has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, and he is a terrific winger as well.
TBR revealed that Arsenal have spoken to Jamie Gittens of Borussia Dortmund too, who is also expected to be on the move this summer.
