TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Anthony Gordon is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Newcastle star has impressed since joining the Magpies from Everton in 2023, scoring 22 goals and assisting another 23 in 105 games. His performances have garnered interest from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Liverpool were very keen on signing Gordon last summer as well, but the Magpies blocked a move as the deal failed to materialise. Eventually, Gordon signed a new contract with Newcastle in October.
But TBR Football understands that the 24-year-old has been left frustrated at St .James’ Park in recent months.
Liverpool remain keen on signing Newcastle star Anthony Gordon
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that the Reds remain keen on signing Gordon, especially if Liverpool sell Luis Diaz to Barcelona.
They face competition from Chelsea and Arsenal, who as per sources, are also among those who have registered an interest in the winger.
TBR Football is told that potential suitors have already reached out to the player’s camp in recent weeks ahead of the summer.
And while Newcastle do not want to lose any of their star players this summer, including Gordon, there is an internal belief that the player does have a price. As per TBR Football sources, the price is set to be over £75m.
Anthony Gordon is best friends with Liverpool star Curtis Jones
If Liverpool seriously pursue a move for Gordon, convincing him to join should not be a problem for the Merseyside club.
Gordon is a boyhood Liverpool fan, who as per former Everton scout Ian Duke, wants a move to Anfield.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, he said: “Especially being a Liverpool fan, I’d love him to go there and kick the door down.
“I think he would improve again coming to Liverpool, playing with a batch of better players, confidence but I think he wants it, he’s a Liverpool fan. There’s nothing better than playing for your boyhood team.”
Gordon is also best friends with Curtis Jones at Liverpool, who he enjoyed playing with for the England U21s, making it easy for the Newcastle star to settle in.
The left-winger could flourish under Arne Slot, however, the Reds already have Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz competing for the same position.
Any potential move would depend on whether Luis Diaz stays or leaves.
