Should Florian Wirtz have appeared on HGTV’s House Hunters? Or maybe Love it or List it?

Most days, planning the Bavarian Football Works schedule is easy, but on other days, it can be tough.

On Friday morning, the most obvious story indicating that Bayern Munich’s stronghold on Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz had slipped away was right in front of our faces…but we ignored it.

Well, kind of.

It was actually just ME who ignored it, though not for the reason you might think.

In reality, this guy was writing it as the lead to Saturday’s Daily Schmankerl. Roughly six hours later, this guy would realize that the story he dismissed as “fun, but maybe not all that meaningful” was probably the first sign that Wirtz was ready to stiff-arm Bayern Munich and join Liverpool FC.

What was the story you ask? Well, it came from Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk in his work for his personal website:

Christian Falk now reports that Bayern hold ‘a bit of fear’ about their Premier League competitors.

Arne Slot’s outfit appears ready and able to commit to a sizeable transfer fee. However, it remains to be seen just what figure the Reds are prepared to put on the table.

“Bayern Munich still believe they have the Wirtz family’s word that he will join Bayern in 2025 or 2026,” the BILD reporter exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider. “But now, there is a bit of fear inside the club around Liverpool, because they didn’t think that the Reds would commit to the transfer fee, as it’s a lot of money. They had an idea a couple of summers ago for Moises Caicedo (with a £111m bid), but this didn’t work out.

“We heard that Florian was already househunting in Liverpool. The family is playing this transfer game quite openly; they’re telling Bayern what they’re doing with Liverpool, and they’re telling Liverpool what they’re doing with Bayern Munich.”

Damn it…Falk had it all along. He had the story…and this dope was writing it up for Saturday. As Happy Gilmore once said to his young caddie, “Where were you on that one, dipsh*t?”

Hand up…it’s on me. I Falk’d up, guys.

The news that Bayern Munich had coughed up the Florian Wirtz transfer was shocking. Even more stunning was that it was Liverpool FC, who ultimately won the Germany international’s heart. So…what next? Let’s rehash how it all went down, why it happened, and then talk about what might on tap next for the Bavarians, who have to start their transfer dealings all over again.
