Manchester United are closing in on their first signing ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have suffered their worst season in the Premier League era, with the club set to finish 16th or 17th in the league, depending on the results on Sunday.

Questions have been asked about Ruben Amorim’s uncertain future at Manchester United after the poor season, but the club are expected to stick with him going into the next season.
The summer transfer window is expected to be a massive one for the Red Devils, with United aiming to make five new signings at least.
One of the players who has been strongly linked with a move to United is Matheus Cunha.
Matheus Cunha close to completing move to Manchester United
United have been after Cunha for some time, and it now seems that the ‘phenomenal‘ Brazilian is close to heading to Old Trafford.
While Arsenal were keen on Cunha as well, it appears that Manchester United have won that race, with ESPN’s Mark Ogden expecting him to sign next week.
Speaking on The Back Pages podcast, he said: “Well, I think we know that Matheus Cunha is going to sign up for United probably next week. That deal is pretty much done. That’s a significant deal, 62 million pounds.
“Obviously, they need to improve their attacking options because they’re just simply not good enough. Alejandro Garnacho will probably leave, Rasmus Hojlund isn’t good enough.
“They haven’t got the goals, and that’s been the reason why they’ve been so bad this season, that they’ve not been able to put away the chances they’ve created.”
Wolves eyeing Yuri Alberto as replacement for Matheus Cunha
Cunha’s move to United seems to be a done deal as suggested by the latest development that sees Wolves closing in on the signing of Yuri Alberto to replace their Brazilian star.
According to Brazilian outlet Globo, the Corinthians’ star has expressed his desire to play in the Premier League amid interest from Wolves in the 24-year-old.
Player | Games Played | Goals | Assists | Goal Contributions |
Matheus Cunha | 35 | 17 | 6 | 23 |
Yuri Alberto | 34 | 13 | 1 | 14 |
The report claims that Corinthians are aware of the interest from the English side, who are expected to make an offer for the player as soon as the window opens.
Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has previously worked with Alberto and sees him as the right player to replace Cunha.
