Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign young starlet Callan Hammill from Scottish club St. Johnstone.
He will move to North London on 1st July after he turns 16.
Hammill operates mainly as a centre-half, but can also feature as a full-back or in central midfield. St. Johnstone will receive more than ₤100,000 in exchange for their player, who scored his first goal for the Scotland under-16 team last week.
The teenager has trained with the Arsenal under-18 side a number of times in recent months, and even played for the club in an international youth tournament last summer.
Both the Glasgow giants, Celtic and Rangers had been interested in him, but he turned them down in favour of Arsenal, with the North London club ready to offer him a pathway to first-team football.
Since Brexit made it more difficult to sign the best European young talent, the Scottish market ahs become more appealing for English clubs.
