How to watch PSG vs Liverpool in US and UK – TV channel, live stream, early team news

6 Min Read

Liverpool claims its reward for topping the new league phase of the Champions League later today — an absolute stinker of a trip to PSG. The French champion has won each of its last 10 matches, posing a stiff test for the Reds.

But Arne Slot has not been daunted by much in his short time at Liverpool to date. And with the form that Mohamed Salah and co are in, PSG would also have preferred to draw just about anybody else, even despite the news that Cody Gakpo faces a late fitness test following a training setback.

After Aston Villa beat Club Brugge 3-1 in Belgium, Liverpool knows that the Midlands outfit would be its likely Champions League quarter-final opponent, should it overcome the Parisians. Beyond that, Arsenal or one of the Madrid sides would await in a potential semi-final.

But none of that matters unless Liverpool can get past PSG, starting with a strong first leg performance; Liverpool.com has picked out all of the information that you need to know, including the kick-off time, TV details, highlights and early team news. We’ll start with kick-off details for the UK and US.

What time is kick-off?

The match kicks off at 8:00pm in the UK, which is 12:00pm Pacific Time and 3:00pm Eastern Time. It is set to be played at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

The last time Liverpool travelled there, in November 2018, it was on the end of a 2-1 defeat. But it went on to lift the European Cup that season, so perhaps Slot will be taking it as an omen.

Liverpool won the reverse group stage fixture 3-2 that season, with goals from Daniel Sturridge, James Milner and Roberto Firmino. Five of the players who started for Jurgen Klopp that night may well do so again, with Salah, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson all still occupying important roles.

Is the match on TV?

Yes, the match will be broadcast on TV in both the UK and the US. UK viewers will need to tune into TNT Sports 1 from 7PM, or else stream the fixture on Discovery Plus.

For those in the US, the game can be accessed through Paramount Plus. All of the evening’s fixtures will be available on the streaming platform (as is also the case in the UK with Discovery Plus), although Benfica vs Barcelona and Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen both kick off at the same time as the Liverpool match.

Fans plotting a double header of Champions League action can watch Feyenoord vs Inter in the earlier kick-off. Slot’s former side will be looking to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 1971/72.

Early team news

Liverpool suffered a slight blow in the build-up to this game. Gakpo, who had been fit enough to come off the bench in the last two matches, faced a training setback when blocking a ball.

He has still travelled with the group, with Slot revealing it will be a late call on whether he can play any part at all. In any event, he seems unlikely to start.

Other than that, there’s no fresh developments on the injury front. Joe Gomez (another who started that last win over PSG) is out with a hamstring issue, as is Conor Bradley, while Tyler Morton is out for the season.

PSG boasts a clean bill of health. However, Fabian Ruiz and Ousmane Dembele are both one booking away from a suspension, so a yellow card in Paris would see them sit out the trip to Anfield.
