Liverpool somehow found a way to beat PSG in the Champions League with Alisson Becker in inspired form and Harvey Elliott coming off the bench to play the super sub role.
Luis Enrique’s side had won 10 games on the spin heading into the clash and had 27 shots at goal. PSG couldn’t find a way through, though, and ended up paying the price.
“Football is many times unfair, but we have to accept that,” Enrique said. “We are ready to go to Liverpool. We don’t have anything to lose, and today Liverpool created one or two chances maximum.
“I’m proud of my players. Liverpool is a top quality team and I think they didn’t feel that [level of opponent] this season with Arne Slot. For us, it is important but we have a last chance. Of course, we are going to do it.”
Elsewhere, Dean Huijsen and Alexander Isak are both being linked with summer transfers. There will be plenty of names suggested before the end of the season but those two would certainly be exciting additions.
