Ayden Heaven has Manchester United fans all saying the same thing after facing Arsenal for the first time since leaving

Former youngster Ayden Heaven may already be feeling vindicated in his decision to switch north London for a fresh start at Manchester United.

Heaven came on at half-time for Man United at Old Trafford to replace Leny Yoro, and he certainly held his own against his former club.

At Arsenal, Heaven only played 10 senior minutes under Mikel Arteta, a youngster who didn’t really have a clear path to the first team.

Arsenal are very well-stocked in defensive areas – it was an understandable decision to leave on Heaven’s part.

And at United, there’s clearly more of an opportunity to play first team minutes, as the youngster has already demonstrated under Ruben Amorim.

Man United fans can’t believe Arsenal let them sign Ayden Heaven

That being said, United fans took to X to praise Heaven following full-time against Arsenal.

The 18-year-old must have been feeling the pressure, entering such a big game at half-time when he was always going to be intensely scrutinised against his former club.

However, Heaven coped admirably, as fans concluded on X.

Speaking about the youngster’s performance, one fan wrote: “Heaven simply superb. That’s what we have to be building around.”

Arsenal wanted to keep Heaven at the club, a player they clearly recognised to have considerable potential.

However, United fans seem very happy that the youngster chose to take his career elsewhere.

Another wrote: “Very impressive cameo again from Ayden Heaven today. More signings like this please!”

Further analysing Heaven’s contribution in his 45 minutes, another fan said: “Heaven is good, doesn’t panic on the ball and has good accuracy in [the] pass.”

A very good outing for the youngster, who looked comfortable in Amorim’s three-back system, and he should have only gained confidence moving forward.

Arsenal failed in their attempts to keep Ayden Heaven

Interestingly, Arsenal made a last-ditch attempt to keep Heaven when learning that United were advancing in their pursuit.

Of course, the club’s attempts mattered very little in the end, and Heaven will now focus his efforts on winning games with United.

It will be interesting to see if Amorim plans to play both Heaven and Yoro in the same defence long-term, two exciting youngsters.

Heaven replaced Yoro on this occasion but could easily partner the young French defender in the future.

Either way, a great day for Heaven who showed Arsenal why he deserved more chances in N5.
