TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Feyenoord centre-back David Hancko could be set to make a move to the Premier League in the summer.

The Slovakian international is not short of suitors, with Tottenham interested in signing Hancko during the winter transfer window.

TBR Football also understands that Liverpool and Chelsea are keen on the 27-year-old’s signature.

Sources have told TBR Football that a number of sides are keeping abreast of Hancko’s situation and contacts have been made, primarily with intermediaries.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham plotting David Hancko move

In Liverpool’s case, TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has been told that they were aware of the in-demand defender and had an interest in signing him even before Arne Slot was appointed last summer.

The Reds have been watching Hancko for a long time and view him as a potentially brilliant addition as they continue to eye a brand-new centre-back. While the former Sparta Prague colossus can also play as a left-back, his suitors feel his best position remains in the heart of the defence.

But Liverpool will be met by competition to sign Hancko, with scouts from Tottenham and Chelsea in attendance to watch him in the flesh during Feyenoord’s 2-1 defeat against Inter Milan in the Champions League.

The good news for all three parties is that the Dutch giants are open to letting the sought-after star leave this summer.

The advantage Liverpool could have over both Chelsea and Tottenham is that Hancko has played under Arne Slot at Feyenoord already.

Furthermore, the Merseyside-based club look set to win the Premier League title as well as the Carabao Cup unlike the pair of London clubs this season.

David Hancko confirmed he almost signed for Liverpool last summer

The other worry for Tottenham and Chelsea is that Hancko could have signed for Liverpool last summer.

Speaking to the Slovakian FA’s SFZ podcast, Hancko revealed in December that Arne Slot informed him that his age and the fee in question were two factors that meant the English giants opted out of signing him.

“I was in contact with the coach, but he immediately told me that it was not possible.”

“Liverpool have a certain transfer philosophy. Age was one issue, the other was price. Both factors were negative for me.”

But since Liverpool are now open to signing Hancko, he might wish to reunite with Arne Slot instead of working with either Enzo Maresca or Ange Postecoglou at Chelsea and Tottenham respectively.
